10 The Benefits of Using a Daily Planner
As a busy mother of two toddlers, working fulltime and learning and aspiring to be an entrepreneur and business owner. I know the value of planning and time management. If I am to do what I am passionate about and have the time to devote to it. It must plan how my twenty-fours hours are spent between taking care of myself, my family, my work, and my passion.
How do I plan to do this?
I plan and manage my life and my time by using a pen and paper. I plan my life by writing things down in my daily planner. Simple and effective. It is one of the great tools readily available to anyone.
Reasons Why You Should Use a Daily Planner
1. Life is Time Management
If you feel overwhelmed, saying to yourself, there is so much to do and so little time. Then you need to schedule your time more efficiently. If you go from one activity to the other without planning how these activities connect to your big goal, you waste precious time and energy. Using a daily planner can help. Take a moment to plan your life. What is your dream, your desire? Set your major goals, and then set the smaller goals, followed by the steps you need to do. Write them down in your daily planner. Writing them out on a planner organizes everything.
2. You Become More Productive
Being productive in your personal and professional life is important to our self-esteem and self-confidence. Having a reason to get up in the morning is critical because it gives us purpose and focus.
Because you’ve set your major goal, you can now identify and write down the smaller goals and the activities that you need to do daily to fulfill your smaller goals leading to your ultimate goal.
A planner helps you keep on track. You have your goal for the day and the action plans that go with it. Check them off once you’ve completed the items you listed and move on to the next.
3. Stress Prevention
When you are overwhelmed, you get stressed. When your day is hectic, chaotic, demanding, you get stressed. Stress affects your thinking, your perception, your attitude, your health.
You are easily irritated. You are impatient and may lash out unnecessarily. You overreact, all because you are all stressed out.
When you take time out to plan your time using a planner, you have direction, know where your focus is supposed to be at certain times of the day, and make you go through your day smoothly. Less to no stress at all.
4. You Have More Time
Because your day is planned, you are organized and have more time to do other things you love.
You will be able to do the things that you love, like reading. You will be able to enjoy the outdoors more if you choose.
You have more time to do other things because you have streamlined your life. See when you plan and write them out. You avoid putting time on things that don’t matter to your end goal.
You are focused and do not waste time on time wasters.
5. Planning Brings our Creativity
As we plan and write things down, you will start to become creative on how and when to do things. Your mind is clearer so you can see things and how it relates to each other. You come up with creative ways to do something.
6. You See Things Clearly
When you start writing things down in your planner, you can see the general picture down to the specifics. You become objective, so decisions on where to spend your time become easy. You get better in recognizing what to keep and eliminate.
7. Your Planner is Your Record Keeper.
I find myself leafing through my planner and just reading through the pages. It has a record of big and small accomplishments. On the sides, it has my scribbled notes, my thoughts, feelings, ideas.
It has subscriptions and training that I have purchased. And it shows a record of when I started going through learning the modules, the actions I took. It memorializes my learning process. It records my journey. It is a journal of my life.
8. Gives You a Sense of Accomplishment
When you complete the things that you set to do for the day, or even if you were only able to do half of it. There is a feeling of a day well-lived. A sense of accomplishment that spurs you on to the next day. You feel happy and fulfilled.
9. A Tool for Life Balance
