50 Life Lessons

50 Life Lessons

As I get older, I find myself reminiscing about old times, thinking about my past, the people I have met, and looking at my life and where I am right now. I have no regrets. I just feel a little disappointed.

And like everybody else, I have made a lot of mistakes, and I pray that I learned my lessons from those mistakes.

I had to think about my life and ask myself the question: Is this the life I have envisioned? And I can honestly say it is not, but I also know it is never too late. As the saying goes, start where you are right now and keep moving forward. Today is a new day, another chance to live the life that I have always dreamed of.

And so I start by looking deep inside myself and seeing my dreams, passions, and desires. And set the journey to my self-fulfillment. So I learn.

So I start by doing what I love to do: Read and learn from people’s life stories. To be able to experience great people’s lives is such a privilege, but learning is the real treasure. Such is the life story of John Goddard, who made his life list and fulfilled each one of them throughout his life.

John  Goddard is one of the world’s most famous anthropologists, explorers, and adventurers. Also called the “real-life Indiana Jones” by the LA Times. He is remembered as the world’s greatest goal achiever and survivor of numerous edge-of-death experiences through his 88 years of life. He has filmed his adventures inspiring people like me to set and achieve goals. His motto was: To dare is to do – to fear is to fail.

It is said that when he was 15 years old, he sat on his kitchen table and wrote on a yellow pad, “My Life List” and wrote 127 goals after hearing his friend’s father saying that he regretted not doing the things he had wanted to at John’s age.

In the book written by Vic Johnson entitled 50 Lessons on the life of John Goddard. He discussed these 50 lessons.
