20 Habits of High Achievers

Here are some habits of great achievers:

20 Habits of High Achievers

1. High achievers set goals and act upon them with purpose. They set goals and accomplish them. They are persistent in their goal setting and working toward their goals, despite what others say or don’t say. They pursue their dreams with will and determination. They know what they want, and they take it and seize it.

2. High achievers plan in advance. They set goals and write them down. They are proactive, they take charge of their life, not sit around waiting for opportunities to come their way.

They are organized. They get rid of clutter, set up systems, routines, etc., to put themself in the best position possible for success.

3. High achievers think it through. They plan out actions in advance and utilize the information available before they act. They ask for help. They seek the knowledge of experts. They are constantly processing information, making decisions, and planning future events. They take the time to make observations, listen to others’ opinions and experiences. They learn from others.

4. High achievers ask more questions.  They are proactive in their thinking and make observations. They learn from their mistakes. They ask for help if they need it.

5. High achievers visualize. They visualize and have a mental picture of their goals, desired outcome, plans, and realistic actions that they can take.

6. High achievers make connections. They think about how there are similarities between two different subjects. They know connections are essential in learning and growing.

7. High achievers are serious about their goals. They are decisive and set the standard that they want you to achieve. They get emotional about their goals feeling the dreams, desires, plans, and purposes of their heart.

“The longer I live, the more I see that men’s most tremendous success depends upon their conduct and character.” – George Bernard Shaw.

8. High achievers are consistent. They to stick with it and realize that some habits take time to develop. When it comes to goals, they are clear and focus on their long-term visions.

9. High Achievers take action. They set goals and live by them. They have a plan, and they work the plan. They don’t waste time doing unimportant things. They do what needs to be done, not always what’s fun to do.

High achievers are highly energized, highly committed, and highly driven. When energized, they feel focused optimism and fight harder toward creating a successful outcome than others around them. They take risks and don’t fear failure.

10. High Achievers never quit. They take a method and try it: If it fails, admit it frankly, and try another. They don’t give up if they get knocked down. They think positively even in times of negativity. They do not allow themselves to think negatively because if they do, they understand that they will be taking actions that will accomplish their negative thinking.

This is what a high achiever thinks in times of negativity: “I was wrong about this situation, and I’m doing what needs to be done to turn it around.”

But a quitter will think this: “I don’t know if I can turn this around, but I’m not going to try so I don’t have to deal with the embarrassment or pressure.”

They stay positive in the face of adversity.

11. High achievers think selfishly. They put themselves first. They take care of their own needs to be able to serve others better later on. High achievers build a solid foundation of support for themselves, including having good health, financial stability, social support, spiritual well-being, etc.

They do for themselves. They take care of their own needs before they help others.

12. High achievers network. They network with others, teachers, mentors, and peers alike. Networking is key to success.

13.High achievers don’t allow distractions to get in the way of what they want to achieve.

High achievers are in control of themselves. They remain calm and composed, even when things go wrong. They don’t let other people’s emotions dictate the way they think or feel. They don’t allow other people’s behavior to influence how they want to be treated or respond just because someone else behaves differently.

They know emotions need to be controlled and harnessed to achieve their goals. They will never achieve their goals if they are allowing their emotions to govern their thinking.

14. High achievers do things with excellence, but not perfection. They are realistic about their goals and expectations. They don’t expect to be perfect. When they inevitably make mistakes, they learn from them and move forward.

High achievers don’t let their doubts waste time by letting them dominate the way they think.

Achievers are dreamers who keep the bigger picture in mind.

15. High achievers are willing to put in more effort than others think is necessary to achieve their goals. They work harder and longer than others would like to. But they know that sooner or later, it is just a matter of time until they reach their goals when they have this mindset.

High achievers take responsibility for themselves and their actions, but they don’t blame others. They control their emotions, which in turn helps them to achieve their goals.

16. High achievers have a purpose and mission in life. They pursue that mission with a strong sense of purpose, which gives them the energy to move in any direction.

17. High achievers don’t compare themselves to others. They know that what they are doing is right for them and can do it better than others who might be more talented but less committed or committed to their goals. High achievers don’t compare themselves to the entire group. They compare themselves to the person they want to be.

18. High achievers think long-term rather than short-term. They plan for the future and take steps every day toward achieving their goals, but they don’t become impatient if things are not immediately working out as intended.

They keep in mind the bigger picture of what they want from life.

19. High achievers want to be the best at whatever they do. They work hard and are careful not to waste their efforts.

20. High achievers think that the reward of success is worth more than the risk of failure, even if they sometimes fail. They know that failure is temporary and can teach them valuable lessons about how to succeed next time, especially if they learn from their mistakes.

So there you go, the twenty habits of high achievers. Anybody can be a high achiever. But it takes a particular person to be a high achiever. Do you have what it takes to be a high achiever? It is all up to you. This world is yours to do what you can. Birth to it, create it, mold it.
