What Kind of Entrepreneur Are You?

What Kind Of Entrepreneur Are You?

An entrepreneur is somebody that starts, owns, and manages a business enterprise for profit. There are also different types of entrepreneurs based on the business they do. Allen Robert, in his book Multiple Streams of Income, gave us the following four types of entrepreneurs.

4 Types of Entrepreneurs

1. Intrapreneur Skills: To Influence, to Persuade, to Lead

An entrepreneur stays inside a corporation, as a consultant, commissioned spokesperson, or part-owner, not as an employee. This is an ideal choice for team players. Intrapreneurs examples include:

  • Insurance agents get residual business.
  • Securities agents get residual sales.
  • Network marketers get residual commissions.
  • Corporate managers get stock options.

2. Extrapreneur Skills: To Be Creative, to Entertain

  • Songwriters earn royalties.
  • Actors get a piece of the action.
  • Visual artists get royalties from paintings.
  • Games designers get royalty fees.
  • Celebrity endorsers get a gross percentage of profits.
  • Investors get royalties.

3. Infopreneur Skills: To Organize, to Simplify, to Teach

An infopreneur is somebody who makes money selling information. They focus on the creation of data, knowledge, skill, or specialized informational products.

  • Authors earn royalties from their books and tapes.
  • Marketing consultants get a percentage of profit or gross revenue.
  • Franchisors get franchising fees.
  • Software creators get royalties.
  • Internet content providers get advertising revenues and royalties.

4. Autopreneur Skills: To Analyze, to See Hidden Value

An autopreneur aims to own automatic streams of income.

  • Entrepreneurs generate business profits.
  • Savings account owners earn interest.
  • Investors get dividends, interest, and appreciation.
  • Discount mortgagors earn interest.
  • Tax lien certificate holders receive interest penalties.
  • Mailing-list owners get rental fees.
  • Company pension plans offer income flow.
  • Venture partners get a percentage of profits.
  • Real estate owners can get cash-flow profits.

In Summary

So now that you know that there are different kinds of entrepreneurship, among the four types of entrepreneurs, which one are you?
