25 Tips for a Lifetime of Achievement

Do I love the “me” that I see in the mirror? Am I living the life I want right now? Do I have unfulfilled goals and dreams?

One thing for sure, I know my future is up to me. I start with being true to myself, finding my passion or purpose, motivating myself to take action, and being intentional and deliberate. Be committed and persistent, no matter who, no matter what happens, no matter how long it takes. Trust my inner instincts. Our subconscious is very powerful. We can talk to ourselves in and out of things at will. We can empower ourselves into a chain of positive change.

Here are twenty-five tips that can start us along our personal journey of lifelong achievement.

25 Tips for a Lifetime of Achievement

  1. See life as a journey with new roads and pathways to take, a book with chapters filled with discoveries, opportunities, and joys.
  2. Add up our wins now. Our triumphs support everything we’ve done in life, and our achievements become more valuable that no one can take away.
  3. Put our goals into action. When we find our passion, take the first steps, take action. We will not hesitate, procrastinate, or waiver because life is too short.
  4. Reflect and Reposition. Now is the time to focus and understand who we are and what value we bring into this world. Think about our passions and make them a reality.
  5. Choose the right emotions. Notwithstanding our circumstances, we can make conscious decisions towards self-love and emotional freedom. We must do what gives us happiness and satisfaction, and not what makes others happy.
  6.  Set aside negativity. We owe it to ourselves to remove people and circumstances that are outside of your positive space. Learn ways to release the stress of negativity by mentally switching or shutting them out and focusing instead on our inner self.
  7. Focus on how good change feels. Enjoy the benefits of the new you. Sometimes, we do not enjoy and ignore the slight, lingering effects change brings to our life.
  8. Create a moment of joy and spread it around. It shows when we are happy about our day. We radiate infectious positivity. Talk to someone you meet today or smile at a stranger and see how great you feel. Try it and see for yourself.
  9. Design a strategic plan to empower ourselves. Assign yourself homework. Buy a planner or- open a document on your PC, and get started on writing down our goals.
  10. Motivate ourselves to become productive. We need to be deliberate and intentional, and we can come up with meaningful ways to reward ourselves in the end. Make ourselves an offer we can’t refuse and get to work.
  11. Our health is crucial to our success. If we ignore and fail to take care of our bodies, our brains and minds cannot function properly or work at its full potential. Eat right, get into an exercise routine that’s right for you, and strengthen our physical, as well as our emotional well-being.
  12. Work on being self-reliant, independent, and developing good habits and behavior. Change now. Our transformation should not depend on others’ opinions or the right time or situation to make it happen. If we do not admire what we see in the mirror, stop making excuses and start taking action.
  13. Be true to our hearts. Our inner compass will tell us the direction to take, not our family, current employer, or even our best friend. Self-actualization is a journey to the edge of our soul, so pay close attention.
  14. Don’t let others determine our worth. Acknowledge and set aside the negative things you’ve learned and endured in the past, negative words said to us. Please do not take things too seriously because the people who said those things have no self-esteem of their own. We are on our way to show anyone who has ever undermined or belittled us of our true worth.
  15. Improve our opportunities. Network and collaborate. Let’s talk to people everywhere we go and pay attention to things around us. Opportunities arise when we least expect them to.
  16. Build our confidence. Do what makes us feel good. Let’s join a club or change our wardrobe. Take up a new sport or pastime. Let’s value ourselves, and the rest of the world will join in.
  17. Build your internal belief and support system. Strength and conviction come from within. Say affirmations, positive self-talk, read books, meditate, and learn how to depend on ourselves.
  18. Take a reasonable risk. Think, prepare, and plan when taking risks. Ascertain that it is worth considering and will not unreasonably hurt us.
  19. Use the power of collaboration. Positive change is contagious. Successful teamwork happens to those who choose to link energy and private victories into collective accomplishment.
  20. Face the past. Spread out the sorrows and discouragements in front of us. Understand why they showed up in our life. Promise ourselves that we will do better, and never turn back.
  21. Accept 100% responsibility for our survival. Look for solutions, not excuses, to find creative, new happiness in our life. Our desire for success needs to be strong and our determination stronger.
  22. Life balance. Let us plan our day to have time to work, eat, sleep, rest, relax. Only with a balanced body, mind, and spirit can we reach our best potential.
  23. Have a hobby or a sport. Please make this a part of our week-to engage in a hobby to bring out our creativity and imagination. Please choose a sport to challenge and strengthen our physical prowess. These will provide us an opportunity to relax and rejuvenate and come out physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually stronger.
  24. Power Naps. When I get tired and start getting sleepy, I take my power naps, ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I find that I perform better and get things done faster after taking my power naps than trying to accomplish something while yawning and feeling groggy and run down.
  25. Quiet time. Whatever time you choose this quiet time, it is important to think, reflect, and listen to our thoughts. As a busy mom, my quiet time is my drive to work, the few minutes before I sleep, or the few minutes before getting up in the morning. Whatever time you choose to spend quiet time, “me” time. This practice is essential for balanced and well-rounded personhood.

What It Takes

To be the best version of ourselves, reach our highest potential that should be the goal of everyone. But not everyone chooses the path of lifelong self-achievement. Some choose to stay as they are, be where they are. It’s a choice that they make. But for us that want more and are willing to work more and take on the journey of self-achievement, we need to take action. Transform our desires, intentions, dreams, thoughts into reality. The possibilities are endless. Our goals are achievable. As Napoleon Hill said and one of my favorite quotes, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
