Positive people are generally happier than before, and they often have more energy and enthusiasm to pursue their goals. But for most people, it’s the lack of confidence that keeps them from feeling good about themselves and the way they hate even thinking about those things that make them unhappy. They think to themselves, “If I could only change it so that….”

There are other things that you can do to get your confidence up and feel good.

1. SMILE and LAUGH

You can learn to smile more and even laugh. That makes people think better of you – and it makes you feel better too. If you always look miserable no matter what is going on or how much fun things are, people won’t want anything to do with you. Use this to your advantage by dressing up, smiling, putting on makeup, doing your hair in a new way, or just by making yourself more interesting when you go out.

2. POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT

You can make yourself feel better is to surround yourself with positive, uplifting influences. If you surround yourself with people who have bad attitudes, then sooner or later, they will rub off on you. The same thing happens when you hang around negatively about everything and constantly complain about how bad life is.

If you find yourself among people like this, get out of there. You will become like them, and then you’ll be unhappy too. If it’s a habit of yours to complain or throw a hissy fit any time something does not go the way you want it to, there is no point in living at all.

3. ACKNOWLEDGE AND LEARN

Start by acknowledging that everyone has problems. They all have things that they need to learn how to deal with in their lives. Learn to relate to people different from you. It makes you happier and helps you realize that rather than feeling inferior all the time, you can learn from other people’s experiences.

Once you put the negative attitudes aside, it’ll be easier for you to deal with all of life’s problems, and everything that happens in your life will become easier too. This is a sure-fire way to achieve success because even the most severe negative things are nothing but experiences that can make us stronger.

4. NEGATIVE ATTITUDE

People with negative attitudes are those who always expect the worst. They think that life is out to get them every chance it can, and they are constantly screaming “No!” at everything that comes their way. They say things like, “that won’t work,” or “I can’t do this,” or “I’m too old for this stuff.”

A great deal of unhappiness stems from negative thinking and thinking you do not have what you want. The more negative you are, the more you will attract negative situations into your life. That is why negative thinking can become a habit that’s hard to break. If someone has a problem, it may be best not to point it out or tell them they have it in the first place if they do not realize it for themselves.

6. BE POSITIVE

An excellent way to get rid of a negative attitude is to look for the positive things in whatever situation you are in. It’s incredible how many times you can find something positive in a bad situation. You can always do something to make it better, and if you look hard enough, you will see it.

7. THINK POSITIVE

If you can think of something positive to say about a situation, you will feel better. It’s incredible how many times people with negative attitudes can negatively see things but say something positive about them when asked. It’s even more amazing how many times they can positively see something but don’t say anything positive.

8. BE OPTIMISITIC

The most optimistic people in life are those who learn how to be happy where they are, rather than wishing for happiness somewhere else or just imagining what it would feel like to be happy someplace else. Look for the positive things in your life and surroundings. Find them and find them often – no matter what is going on. You will soon notice that you will find something or someone that makes you happy wherever you go.

Most of us are happier when we are happy where we are and when we can see things in a positive light, even if they can be a bit difficult or look bad at first. This is why thinking positively is so critical.

If you can imagine the positive aspects of anything that happens or any situation you may find yourself in, you will be amazed at how much better your life will get and the more energy you will have to do everything you need to do.

You can find the positive things in a situation by figuring out what you can think about to make you feel better. You may have to do this a lot, and it can get annoying at times. But it’s certainly worth the effort because you will soon see how good things really are and then realize that things are never so bad that they couldn’t be worse.
